"I believe in lower taxes, better schools, more economic opportunities for all, safer communities, a strong National defense, affordable health care, and greater cooperation between people of diverse racial and religious backgrounds" I believe that and support those issues just like all of my opponents on all sides do as well as has every candidate who has ever run for any office. The real problem is how can we accomplish those goals.
You have read my positions on these subjects; that is what I currently support and will work toward achieving. If you have a better way, I welcome your input as well as that from others across the third district and MS. You should be heard far more than special interests that populate the halls of Congress with paid lobbyists.
"On issues that you need individual help with, whether that involves social security, veteran benefits, or any other problem with a Federal agency, any Represenative that you send will be as responsive as Congressman Pickering has been. I include myself in that group because that is the primary job of the office, to serve you the people."
"When you take the Oath of Office, you are swearing to uphold the Constitution as written and follow its principals and precepts, to depart from that framework as a lawmaker is to cease to be a faithful servant tending the needs of the citizens of the Third District of MS instead choosing to put on the yoke of another that could enslave us all for their personal "thirty peices of silver" whatever that may be.
"Let's not fool ourselves, as a freshman Congressman whichever candidate you choose to represent you will start at the bottom of the totem pole. You must choose someone who is personable and can build bridges to accomplish anything of significance. I am that person.
If you hit the ground running, you're in danger of running past opportunities for success. If you start fighting, you will not be included as part of the solution. I will engage in thoughtful discussions to develop workable answers to solve the problems facing the people of the 3rd District."
